Privacy policy

What we collect

We collect two things. The first is ordinary web request data — the page requested, an approximate location derived from the connection, browser type and referring page — which our hosting provider records to serve the site and defend it from abuse. The second is account data, but only if you deliberately create a contributor account.

Contributor accounts

If you sign in as a contributor or editor, we store your email address, an authentication record and the editorial role assigned to you. That data exists solely to let you sign in and to control who can publish. Readers never need an account, and nothing on the public site is gated behind one.

Cookies and local storage

We use a session cookie or equivalent browser storage to keep a signed-in contributor signed in. We also store small preference values in your browser — for example, whether you have dismissed an optional external-resource notice. These are readable only by this site and can be cleared at any time from your browser settings.

Analytics

Where we measure traffic, we do so in aggregate to understand which guides are useful. We do not build advertising profiles, and we do not run cross-site behavioural advertising.

Third parties

Some pages link to independent external sites. Once you follow such a link, that site's own privacy practices apply, not ours. We have no control over, and take no responsibility for, what they collect.

Data retention and your rights

Request data is kept only as long as it is useful for security and diagnostics. Contributor account data is kept for as long as the account exists. If you hold an account and want it and its data removed, contact us and we will delete it.

Children

This site is aimed at players of a racing game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be published on this page with a new revision date.
