Search for CSR2 help and modded files appear before anything about racing. This guide explains what they claim, what the realistic outcomes are, and where we stand.
What the category covers
Broadly: modified game clients, save editors that rewrite local game data, and services that offer currency in exchange for account access. They differ technically but share one property — they sit between you and the official game.
The realistic outcomes
- Account loss. Modified clients and edited save data are detectable, and enforcement is applied to the account, not the device. Progress bought this way is not durable.
- Credential theft. Any tool that asks for your account login, or for you to sign in through a page it controls, is asking for the one thing worth stealing.
- Device compromise. Installers from unofficial sources are a well-documented delivery route for unwanted software on mobile devices.
- Nothing at all. Plenty of these downloads simply do not work and exist to generate ad revenue or survey completions.
Why we do not host them
We do not distribute modified files, save editors or currency generators, and we do not publish install steps. That is not a moral lecture — it is that our entire value here is being a reference you can trust, and hosting that material would make us the same as every other results page.
What to do instead
The parts of the game people try to shortcut — cash, parts, progression — are the parts our economy and tuning guides address directly. It is slower, and it is yours to keep.
If you have already used one
Change the password on any account you entered into a third-party site, remove the unofficial client, reinstall from the official store, and review the permissions granted to anything you installed alongside it.
