What people mean by a modded account
A "modded account" usually means an account whose garage or balances were altered outside normal play, or an established account sold to a new owner. Both sit outside the game's terms of service, and both carry consequences that the listing page rarely mentions.
The exposures, plainly
- Terms of service. Account trading and modification breach the rules of the game. Enforcement is at the publisher's discretion and can arrive long after the transaction.
- Recovery. An account you did not create is an account you may not be able to recover. Whoever holds the original credentials holds the account.
- Payment. These transactions sit outside any platform's buyer protection.
- Data. Anything you hand over — logins, linked social accounts, email — is now shared.
We are not going to tell you what will happen to a specific account, because nobody honestly can. We will tell you the exposure is real and asymmetric: the downside lands on the buyer.
The part that gets skipped
Most people who look at modded accounts are not really chasing an account. They are chasing a feeling: being stuck in tier 4, not having the car an event demands, or being unable to keep pace with a crew. Those are solvable problems inside the game, and solving them is what most of this site is about — start with the tier 4 transition and where gold actually pays off.
If you are still researching services
Some players research external services regardless. If that is where you are, research them the way you would research any purchase: look for transparent descriptions of what is actually delivered, avoid anyone promising guaranteed safety, and understand that no third party can promise your account will be unaffected.
