Garage Management: What to Keep and What to Let Go

Garage Management: What to Keep and What to Let Go

Space is a resource. Deciding what earns its slot is a real strategic decision.

A crowded garage is not a rich garage. Most players keep cars out of sentiment and then find themselves unable to take on a new build without a painful decision under time pressure.

Give every car a job

Each car should have a role you can name: an earning car, a short-race specialist, a restricted-event entry, a crew car, or a long-term project. A car without a role is occupying a slot for free.

The three keep categories

  • Cars that fit a restriction you meet regularly. These are hard to replace.
  • Cars you have already tuned and logged for a distance you race often.
  • Cars that are genuinely unique in your garage in how they behave.

The let-go categories

  • Duplicates of a role you already cover better.
  • Half-upgraded cars you stopped caring about two tiers ago.
  • Cars bought for an event that has ended and will not return in the same shape.

Decide before you are forced to

Do a garage review when you are relaxed, not when a new car is waiting and the space is full. Rushed decisions are where good specialist builds get destroyed.

Keep the notes with the car

If you sell or shelve a car, keep its tune log entry. If you rebuild something similar later, the notes save you the whole tuning session.
