A launch is a small window where three things have to line up: the revs you release at, the grip the car has, and how smoothly you feed it in. Most players only think about the first one.
Find your car window, not a universal number
Different cars want to be released at different points, and the correct point moves when you change grip or final drive. Rather than memorising a figure from a video, run the same launch five times at slightly different release points and note which one produced the least squirm. That is your window for this build.
Watch the car, not the timer
The information you need is in the first moments of the run. Spinning means too much power for the grip you have. Bogging means you released too early or too gently. Neither problem is solved by a faster reaction; both are solved by adjusting release point or grip.
Consistency beats perfection
A perfect launch you land one time in five is worth less than a good launch you land four times in five. Ladder results are decided by your average, not your best. Practise for repeatability first and refine afterwards.
Rebuild the habit after upgrades
Every grip or power upgrade shifts the window. If your launches suddenly get worse after buying parts, nothing is broken — retune, then re-learn the release point.
A simple drill
Pick one car, one race length, and run ten launches with no other goal. Note how many were clean. Repeat tomorrow. Improvement here transfers to every car you own, which is not true of any tune.
